During the ARTAS Procedure, your physician will use the ARTAS Harvesting System which precisely and gently dissects grafts thousands of times in a single session. The ARTAS High-Definition Stereoscopic Vision System identifies the optimal grafts to remove. Because the procedure is performed robotically, it offers high quality visualization and precise dissection from the first to the last graft.
Once the hair follicles are harvested, the ARTAS System precisely creates new recipient sites based on the physician’s prescribed hairline design for the patient, using ARTAS’s patented Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
Depending on the patient, procedure and device model, your physician can use the ARTAS system to simultaneously make recipient sites and implant the harvested hair grafts. The proprietary AI algorithm is designed to protect existing terminal hair while creating natural-looking aesthetic result.

How does the Artas work?
The ARTAS® robotic hair transplant system starts by using 3D technology to help customize and plan your personalized hairline design. It then uses a high-definition stereoscopic vision system, robotic arm, and ARTAS Artificial Intelligence algorithms to identify and select the best hair follicles for transplanting. These follicles are then intelligently harvested with robotic precision and speed to preserve the natural look of your donor area, meaning no linear scarring. The ARTAS® procedure will also accurately identify and create an optimal recipient site and simultaneously implant the harvested hair follicles. The minimally invasive process protects your existing healthy hair and maintains a natural appearance in both the donor area and the new implantation area.

After undergoing the hair growth treatment, you can expect to see significant improvements in the thickness and natural appearance of your hair. These results typically become noticeable around six months following the procedure and will continue to improve over time. Yes, a good candidate is someone that is realistic with the expectation. Someone that wants to feel and look their best and most important that he/she is in good health condition to undergo a surgical procedure.
The ARTAS® system allows a minimally invasive procedure that is virtually undetectable. Unlike previous methods of hair restoration, there is no need for the surgical removal of a strip of scalp from the back and sides of the head. So, there is no linear scar after surgery, and no need for stitches or staples to close the wound. The benefit is a significantly shortened recovery time.
Thanks to local anesthesia and post-operative pain medications, no, a hair transplant is not painful. While no surgery can be completely painless and some brief and likely temporary level of discomfort is possible, a hair transplant is typically a pleasant and easy experience for most hair loss sufferers
Each patient tolerates pain after surgery in different ways. Your surgeon will prescribe the appropriate pain medications to help minimize any discomfort.
